The Program Officer (PO) is responsible for leading key community-driven programs (specifically related to substance use treatment/ harm reduction), managing grantmaking portfolios, maintaining the integrity of grant information, and assisting with policy and advocacy efforts. To further the Foundation’s strategic priorities, the PO develops relationships and works closely with community residents, leaders and other external partners.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, a clear commitment to racial justice, experience and knowledge of substance use treatment/ harm reduction programming and issues, in-depth knowledge of the Brooklyn nonprofit sector, a learning orientation and humility, and will be a team player capable of putting the common good first.
This is a part-time exempt position – approximately 25 hours/week, and reports to the Vice President of Programs and Partnerships. It is located in Brooklyn, NY and will occasionally require early morning, evening, and weekend work. There is the need to travel within NYC via public transportation for visits with community partners.
