Announcing Two New NFG Projects
It's been a big year for NFG! We officially launched two new, exciting projects at our 2018 National Convening last month in St. Louis. In case you missed it, here's a preview of what's coming.
Philanthropy Forward: Leadership for Change
This fall, NFG will be launching Philanthropy Forward: Leadership for Change, our first ever leadership cohort for CEOs and presidents of progressive philanthropic institutions.
This peer group of aligned CEOs will dig deep on power building and form an aligned bloc of philanthropic leadership. Philanthropy Forward is a strategic partnership with The Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions.
If you think you or your foundation's CEO might be right for this kind of project, find out more about the core program components.
Integrated Rural Strategies Group
In addition, NFG has been convening a core group of funders interested in supporting racial justice and organizing in rural communities. The Integrated Rural Strategies Group seeks to support work that is creating deep democracy in rural areas; facilitating a transition to working economies that are ecologically resilient and sustainable; and protecting land, water, air, and soil for generations to come.
As a first step for this work, the group commissioned a scan with 20 rural leaders across the country on the current landscape of rural organizing. Check out Voices from the Field: Rural Organizers on What They Need from Funders to learn more.
